Biography & Credentials

Randall H. Borkus MS, JD. LL.M./Taxation

  • Randall practices law in Chicago and its suburbs in the areas of asset protection, estate planning, federal and state taxation.

  • Randall also advises tax-exempt organizations and foundations on board of director responsibilities and PTAX-300 filings in Cook County for property tax exemptions. A common misunderstanding is that charitable organizations are automatically qualified for property tax exemptions because they have a charter from the Secretary of State's office designating them as a not-for-profit corporation, or an exemption from federal taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Tax Code. Furthermore, there are ongoing compliance requirements that each charity must follow or be subject to losing exemption status.

  • Randall works with the professionals at InKnowVision LLC on select projects. InKnowVision LLC is a national consulting and marketing firm that develops and designs management and preservation strategies for individuals and families of exceptional wealth. In 2004, InKnowVision completed over 40 estate and income tax design plans with total assets in excess of $1B. They placed over $400M in charitable dollars, more than most of the receiving charities raised themselves.
